Became Ryzom be open source, how could you help to develop it?

This is a counting to see how much helpers the Projekt could get.

Unfortunately are multiple choices not possible. Choice what you can as best, other abilities you can post in the thread!

This is the english poll for this smiliar france posting

My skills include:

    1) Network Administration
    2) Database Administration
    3) Server Administration
    4) I'd also love to be involved in Lore and Technical Service

I currently work in the capacity of my top three choices and have ten years of experience.

I'd like to fix up the ring a bit ^^

- Allow complete freedom (npc equipment, scenery, etc).
- Variable memory allocated per player for components (so you can actually do something useful with the ring).
- More, more, more, and more components.

I have a few years Java programming experience, only been doing C++ for about a year; exposure to various other programming and scripting languages as well. I also have some skills with 3D modeling and animation, though I've only used Maya. For a short while, I worked as a community/site manager for the WarCry Network, so I have experience running a community and still have a few contacts with some of the other fansites and game publishers. More of a Jack-of-all-Trades, master of none; I just want to help in whatever way I can.

I already voted in the French poll, so I haven't voted in this one.

- lore development
- artwork / 2D design
- textures

I won't vote twice so we won't end-up with fictictious number of people. Already voted on the French section.

I'm currently one of the community maintainers for OpenNeL (the open-source version of the NeL engine.) I'd like to continue doing that, all of the packaging support, and patching I do for that project. I also do a lot of C++ programmer between NeL and my own (old) project.

I could be the community manager for the new project as well and lend a hand in cross-training new contributors both on community practices (e.g. communication about patches, fully testing patches, acceptable features, peer review, etc) as well as cross-train Ryzom/Ring developers on NeL. I have about 5 years of experience with NeL so I think that could provide a good melding of talents.

I wish I had a skill that would be of some help but I'm a self tought PC user with only basic knowledge of the things listed in the poll.

I have been with Ryzom since early beta and would like to do what I can. Maybe help test or other non highly technical tasks.

Does anyone have experience with Zope/Plone? I just remembered that the Ryzom website uses Plone, so if the community will continue to run it, then someone needs to do some studying ;)

I don't really care to participate at all. I want the engine for my own nefarious purposes.

I went along with the Lore option, in that I don't have any programing skills what-so-ever (too bad). I'd love to help out in any way possible.
