Good idea :) Maybe Xavier could give moderator rights to some of the frequent users at least in the certain english speaking zones?

Yup, this is a good idea. I tend to visit the forum only once in a while, so having someone with mod rights to keep the spam out of the forum would be great, pretty much like on the French forums.

Here it is. I've given Katriell moderation rights over the English boards (VCA & Ryzom.org). I've also given moderation rights over the French VCA forum to luinil, psychee, Oscar* & sahelle, who have made a really good job on the French Ryzom.org boards.

If anyone wants to help moderating the English boards, reply this post. If Katriell needs help, I'll add moderators based on the list of people who volunteer here.

Thanks!

I'm sure you'll be of great help Kaetemi - I've granted you moderator rights.

Thanks a lot.

I've proposed my help a long time ago. And I read these boards regularly. Yet, I'm still waiting. ;)

Also chain someone to the wiki.
There are many ways to hinder spam-bot access to the wiki.
Specially the wiki could use a couple of admins who weed out junk.

Admin aproval of new accounts.
Rquierments before allowing editing pages.
Make certain pages only editable by certain user-levels.

That way you keep the core-pages free from junk.

Yes, I'll do something about this when I update the Ryzom.org website with the latest version (since the Ryzom.org campaign, the code has been improved a lot in the Flouzo Free Software project, including further wiki integration). There are a few simple things to do to prevent spam, the better I've found being to use the reCaptcha mediawiki extension.

I used to have a lot of spams on Flouzo.net before doing that, and almost none since I installed it.
