Our Foundation would like to reward donators who are good at Ryzom and sponsor prizes for a tournament. Hopefully there will be a tournament where we can get rid of our DVDs. ;)
Prizes
1) Matrix Collection (10 DVDs)
2) Monty Python (5 DVDs)
3) Tarantino collection (6 DVD)
4) Matt Damon Collection (4 DVDs)
5) Lord of the Rings (6 DVDs)
The winner of the tournament can choose first, the second one second etc. To be eligible for the prizes the donator needs to have contributed at least 40 Euro. Details are worked out when the tournament really takes place.
General Reward:
The 64 donators who paid the most can choose a (used) book from our library (~ 800 books, primarily in German on various different topics like history, politics, literature etc). We are in the process of making an inventory which should be done at year end. Here is the most recent list.
Cost for Shipping:
We cover the costs for shipping within Europe unless we organise an event in the city the donator is living (right now we organise events in Stockholm, Graz and Vienna). In that case the person needs to pick up the book him/herself.

Nice ! I'm not sure about the juridical details though; have you got that part covered ?

i dont think there is much legal mambo jambo involved. i mean ryzom.org (or whoever) organises a tournament and we will send the winners the DVDs. if you dont trust us we can ship to one of you site administrators all the dvds before (after the IP rights have been bought - which is our main condition) and you take care of it from there as you wish. the only condition we have is that only donators can participate in this tournament.
regarding the books, its a same procedure. we would need a list of the donators though.
mentioning of VN would be nice, but its not a requirement.
if you see any legal obstacle let us know.
btw, we have some contacts in barcelona. personally, one of my favourite cities!!! que pasa njennng..lol |

I think it would be good to have more info on that, since it's a nice idea, but I still can't see at all what kind of tournament are we talking about.. it's a kind of random giveaway if we succeed?
If you please update us on the subject and there's no legal issues with it, I think it's something to be grateful for, as any support initiative :) |

we dont know the game very well but there gotta be a simple way to come up with a ranking of some sort. we totally leave it up to the experts who is going to be the winner and gets the prizes (subject to our condition that only a donator get the prize; we trust you on this point).

"giveaway" - yes.
"random" - no. books are only for the top 64 donators, and dvds should be embedded into some kind of competition/tournament.
generally, we want to give people some more incentives to donate because we think having a MMORPG under the gpl would be great. unfortunately, in practise our contribution is not going to have any considerable impact on the absolute amount that is being donated but its all we can afford right now. |

I appreciate your offer, and to me it would be a good thing to do if we succeed, as long as the rest of the community agrees ;) |
