Hello,
As mentioned in this thread (which you should read before answering this poll), the Free Software Foundation is proposing to jointly (FSF & VCA) release a statement "welcoming the freeing of SL and why this it is important to the community". In other words, it is telling the world, something among the lines of "we are very pleased to see Second Life client becoming GPL, gg Linden, this is a step forward in our direction, and important to the FOSS community - but remember to free the server too!".
In addition, we would be monitoring further developments of the Second Life project, to make sure it holds its promises, and help whenever we can.
We would also use the opportunity to let people know where we are at (the MMO shard project by Project Angela/Peragro Tempus/Planeshift using Crystal Space, Ryzom.org becoming the Virtual Citizenship Association, the IRL); see the current actions page to know more. |
