Hello,
You may have noticed that I have just created two new forums, one for the Virtual Citizenship Association project and one for the MMO from scratch project (it needs a better name!), and moved relevant topic to these new forums. And of course the ryzom.org general boards stay up, for the third potential project, which is to see if something is possible with Gameforge.
These aren't yet "official" projects to be announced, since there hasn't been a vote yet. We aren't in a hurry anymore, we can take the time to fully discuss the three projects before deciding. So, these are open discussion areas, dedicated to prepare project presentations for the vote.
In my opinion, each of them needs to:
- Find at least one animator/moderator, meaning someone dedicated to make sure the debates are progressing, and volunteering to do all the critical work needed by the project. I'm volunteering to keep doing this for the Virtual Citizenship Association, but even if I'll gladly help, I won't have the time to do it for the other two.
- Prepare a detailed description of the project on the wiki, using vote as necessary between the involved people to decide on issues where there is some disagreement. Please keep in mind that, often, it is best to keep trying in finding a solution satisfying everyone than trying to impose your views using a vote.
- Setup a roadmap, giving the successive planned milestones of the project, in chronological order. A roadmap is not a promise, but it allows everyone to know where the project is aiming, and where to help first.
I have probably forgotten a lot of necessary details, so feel free to reply and suggest changes to the list.
Also, as a side-note, I'll be in holidays (ahh, finally! ;p) between next Thursday and January 6th, with no access to the Internet (that was a must have after the last month and a half in front of my computer ;p). So it will be a good occasion to show that I'm not necessary to have things moving forward. ;p |
